Part 1 - Sowing the seeds of love
As odd a subject as it may seem to be with relation to this subject, love is a dominant factor if you are going to pursue this tremendous task of creating "the greatest global talent career ever..."
For what you are about to embark on and for what you will have to endure, you’d better have the greatest capacity on earth to love and beloved. The performing arts in general breed a sort of fickle nature in artists and fans alike. One thing that is a constant is, if you tell the audience the truth in your performance they will admire you. Try to pull a fast one over on them and, well... "You can fool some of the people some of the time...", or however the old adage goes.
You will need a lot of love and tolerance to sustain you through the sometimes fickle nature of the audience because if you give an untruthful performance it can sometimes be equated with a "bad performance" and the sting of their discontent can be felt far and wide. The same thing holds true for you as well. Receiving unkind remarks about a performance from the public can have a crushing effect on a performing artist's ego. If it happens you'll need to pick yourself right up and acknowledge to yourself at least, where you went wrong. You must strive to be totally honest with yourself in this assessment to as this is nearly an impossible thing to do unless you start out truly loving what you do and the daunting path you have chosen.
Yes the rewards can be great, but the damage to you psychological well-being and ego looms in the background as the most devastating experience of your life, which brings us to other attributes you need to have stowed away in your locker of arms, strength and fortitude.
